Homeschooling

Homeschooling is something I have always wanted to do; even before becoming a mom. I hear so many people say they feel stressed out while homeschooling and you do not have to be. Being a homeschooling parent or teacher does not have to be like a traditional school. You will have to abide by certain laws within your own state of course but this homeschooling guide will help you with some ways to at least keep your little learner more entertained and excited throughout the journey. Check out some of my homeschooling finds here to help you stay more organized or inspired!
As for homeschooling parents; I feel your pain! It honestly took me almost two full years to really get a grasp at what I was doing. Sit down and really educate yourself on curriculum's. There are even homeschooling conventions that are in some areas. Search for local homeschooling groups in your area to see if they have fun things going on or have information on curriculum's they use if you are unsure where to begin.
What I did is just did some basic internet research on laws in my area on how I should home-school. Luckily my state provided me a couple of options. You may even have to change curriculum's a few times; that is okay! Besides...if a child is not learning a certain way or enjoying what they are doing; why not switch the way they are being taught versus dreading doing the school work weekly?
Overtime I have made a schedule where we try to start homeschooling after lunch and take breaks. Throughout the year of course we do normal things children in regular school do. Soccer practice, Karate...you name it. We stay so busy so I never understood the whole thing about homeschooling children not getting interaction with other children. That is nonsense; homeschooling is what you make it!
As a reward for nice behavior and practicing listening skills; I reward my homeschooler with a field trip of their choice in the area. You could even do a treasure box. It depends on the type of learner you have and what motivates them.
